Hello guys!
I was checking the sound file of the 2.79 engines. I notice that, like previous versions, the sound files contained in the folder do not reflect the sound that is played during the simulation. The files in the sound folder are really perfect, but what runs during the simulation looks like a Baron 58. Has anyone also realized this ?! Do you have a config file to check if it's pointing to the correct sound?

Hi The sounds folder is of the old sound system in X-Plane and it is there for backup purposes. The new sounds system for X-Plane 11 is FMOD studio. If you want to disable it simply rename the 'fmod' folder to 'X-fmod' or any other name so X-Plane will not recognize it, and will initiate the old sounds. However it is not recommended because it is lacking lots of sound layers. As for how it sounds...the FMOD sounds are configured and defined based on my experience when I was flying the DC-3/C-47. I am very much familiar with the Baron 58 sounds it real-life as well...I can't say that they are alike. Please check your sounds settings in X-Plane and see if all of the channels are maxed up. In addition, the FMOD sounds are part of the ongoing project and they are under development too. It is improving with time...again...I can't see the resemblance to the Baron 58... Hope that my answer was satisfying... Thanks for the feedback and inputs! JMH - VSKYLABS
