Hello! I just purchased DC-3 Skytrain! Congratulations. I only fly XP11 in VR mode. The Seaplane version is amazing, everything is going fine from takeoff to landing. My problem is with the regurar aircraft. While taxing, it is incredibly hard to control, the nose never gets in a strait direction. Takeoff is almost impossible! When I can leave the ground, the airplane hardly flies following the nose. It's impossible to make it stable for a long time! Can you help me? What should I've been doing wrong? By the way, congratulations for the amazing aircraft. Christian

It is the 'VSKYLABS Tail Dragger Commandments': forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/154411-tail-draggers-ground-operations-commandments/The C-47 is very challenging on ground operations. The VSKYLABS C-47 is no different, and requires differential power, differential braking and good skills. It is also including several features to ease the process, such as easiest tail wheel control, built in differential braking (biased to the rudder pedals, when exceeding a certain throw) etc... I highly recommend to read the content in the link above, to read the included manual, landing gears and tsilwheel section, and not to forget locking the tailwheel before take off. Let me know if these tips were helpful, and if you need further assistance! Thanks! JMH

I have just the opposite problem. I have only had the airplane for a couple of days. I feel like the takeoff is unrealistically short. I have watched real DC-3's take off. Short roll on the tail wheel (few seconds) then long roll level with tail off the ground, then lift off. I go full throttle on the C-47 wait a few seconds for the engine sound to even out, then I remove the brake and the tail never lifts it just jumps off the ground and I am in flight almost immediately. Tonight I am going to try recording the flight so I can watch from the outside. I assume X-Plane can create some kind of mp4 or other video. If I can learn how I will post the video here.
By the way. I am loving the plane. It is all around amazing.

As an initial step. .please let me know what is the outside air temperature in your given airfield. Once I had a situation in which X-Plane OAT went unintentionally to -70 (!). Let me know if that was the issue, and I'll proceed with this right after. (Best sterile takeoff test should be tested in 15 degrees C). Thanks!
