Can the Mini-500 be flown with a KBsim Gladiator Joystick?
It has one smooth throttle, three axes (pitch, roll, yaw) and lots of buttons, but the Mini-500 POH talks about an independent throttle and collective, which would seem to indicate I need another control I don't have on my joystick.
Any suggestions on flight controls setup?

Any suggestions on flight controls setup? Hi! The VSKYLABS Mini-500 is equipped with a throttle governor that allows two modes of operation: manual and governor-assisted. If the governor is switched to ON, then the throttle turns automatic, allowing you to control the helicopter with a single throttle slider on your Joystick (which then should be used as the collective axis). Let know if further assistance is required!

Thank you for responding - This is a big plus for vSkyLabs aircraft to me (in addition to the great quality, great documentation, and continuous improvement you provide). There are many plane vendors - but your pre/post sales support makes buying an aircraft real for me. I'm not buying a toy for my collection - its an aircraft I am going to fly. In setting up the Joystick Throttle axis in X-plane 11, the default mapping is "Throttle". Should I change that to "Collective"?

You should change the throttle axis to 'collective'. Let know if you need further assistance!

Any suggestions on flight controls setup? Just FYI, I also use a Gladiator, and it works very well with helicopters for a small desktop flight stick. Currently, I use the throttle for collective when flying helicopters, and I use the flaps buttons on the left side for throttle. For Anti Torque, I use VKB Pedals (which are fantastic for helicopters BTW, much better than my old CH pedals).

For Anti Torque, I use VKB Pedals (which are fantastic for helicopters BTW, much better than my old CH pedals). Exactly my setup in xp11 now also - added the VKB pedals. In xp11, five presses of the "flaps retract / throttle up" button till the governor takes over, then I'm good to go. The only negative is that I use the throttle control full forward to simulate lifting the collective, and I often forget to put the throttle full back when firing up in my vSkyLabs LongEZ! With the xp12 version (in XP12) the CabriG2 starts with the governor engaged, so I don't have to mess with throttle buttons. I really like the xp12 visual contrast better than xp11, but I like the flying better in xp11. Overall - the vSkyLabs Cabri G2 is very fun to fly. The sim doesn't seem as easy to hover and hover-taxi as the Cabri G2 lesson videos on YouTube, but I'm managing to learn to fly the vSkyLabs Cabri G2 without crashes spoiling my mood.
