Hi, Just purchased this aircraft this evening and am a little frustrated with it. Everything appears to work, when the aircraft is stationary, but as soon as I apply enough throttle to start moving, the fun starts. Firstly, the rudder movement makes no difference to the heading of the aircraft. Tapping the toe brakes works at slow speed but as the speed increases the aircraft starts to perform doughnuts! Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise depends on the direction of the last turn which makes me think that it is not a stuck brake. Speed of the circling increases with engine speed and reducing the throttle to idle will, eventually, make the circling stop. So far I have not been able to get this into the air or even along the runway. I've tried both expert and novice tail wheel settings without too much difference. What did I miss? Hi! You didn't miss anything Taxi the DC-3 is a challenging task that requires a specific technique (real aircraft and in X-Plane). It should be carried out very slow, and gently. Also for ultimate realism, it should be performed with the use of differential engine management... I can suggest that you lock the tail wheel before you taxi, but not get it to 'Expert mode'. It will allow you extra authority as the tail wheel will be acting as if you have a ground steering mechanism (in the real DC-3 it is a free rotating wheel). It will help you with the taxi. With a DC-3, you start 'flying' the aircraft from the taxi phase I hope you will master the taxi soon, and will be able to enjoy the plane! Let me know if you succeed

There was a discussion about bad viewing of instruments. I have a monitor 3440х1440 and it is even more problematic, than the screen 3/4. I recommend to use Oculus+Flyinside. Feelings of flight just fine!

Hi! Thanks These speed bugs are currently "experimental", and only one can be changed. But for now, these speeds are representing: ~65 mph - Vso - stall in landing configuration. ~111 mph - Flaps 3/4 to Full. The animated bug is set up for ~161 mph, which is the gear extension and operation speed. Thanks again

HELP! Outside view shows engine 2 stopped!
I am on XP 11.0.2.2 Steam version.
Just bought this DC-3. It starts with engines running, as indicated by the dual tachometers in the cockpit view. Advancing my joystick throttle increases both of the RPM needles.
But when I switch to the external view, the starboard prop is stationary.
Has anybody else seen this behaviour?

Hi It shouldn't happen. Try to see if you have some plugins that may affect this. Please respond here so we could find what causes it. JetManHuss.

[SOLVED] My starboard engine is working again.
I didn't change anything. Re-booted my PC the following day, and now the prop is turning in the external view.

Good morning everyone, New to this forum, I would like to discuss the DC-3. I operate the bird with X-Plane 10.51 and have observed that the tail-wheel lock seems to work in reverse to what the cockpit lever indicates. Also, when the tail-wheel is free to caster it seems to be attached directly to rudder pedals inputs. Has anyone encounter that problem ? I would also like to know ( pushing my luck here) if it would be possible to remove the steering wheel from the field of view, very much like the B-747 in XP10 as it would make reading the instruments a lot easier. Thanks for your attention and.... keep the blue side up Andre,

Thanks for your attention and.... keep the blue side up Andre, Hi cey I didn't understand your question...you have quoted gooney from Jul 23,2017 at 4:56 pm... Anyways, if you was asking about tail-wheel lock and hiding the Yokes, please visit the Project's page, in the Manual section. You will find great explanations with illustrations Here is the link to the manual page: www.vskylabs.com/2017/06/vskylabs-dc-3-c-47-flying-lab-manual.htmlCheers To answer your two questions, here are quotes from the manual page:HIDE THE YOKES:
When a full view of the instrument panel is needed, click on the aluminum plate underneath the left pilot seat, in front for the Rudder pedals: TAIL WHEEL LOCK AND CONTROL:
There are TWO modes of operation:
- Novice (default): "Locked" is actually an "augmented lock" state. While "locked" the aircraft can be operated as a conventional tail-dragger with additional tail-wheel steering ability (not realistic, but will make taxi more easy for the novice pilots).
- Expert (toggle mode): "Locked" is totally locked. To enable this feature simply click on the Lock-Light-Indicator, and the letters "EX" will appear on the light itself, indicating that it is now in "Expert mode".
- In both modes...Tail Wheel Lock operation should be made only by using the Tail-Lock handle at the lower pedestal.

Hello Old Birds Pilots. While having a lot of fun dragging tail on some of Khamsin Pacific Island Airports, I noticed the wiper blades running in same direction.....on my old bird, they seemed to operate in opposite directions. This sure wont change the way this beautiful bird flies but, I thought may be no one noticed......future update ? Blue side up ! Gooney

Hello, as I suggested before, regards the tail light and top rotating beacon, I worked out the numbers in Plane Maker but I don't know how to include an attachment to this message. Any suggestion, Gooney.
