Do I have a setting wrong? The distance between my "virtual head" and the virtual cockpit panel seems very close. See attached. The "slide back on the pilots seat" set by the comma and period key in X-Plane is set clear back in the photo.

View Attachment Hi Head position is in the right place, physically, although may need some adjustments inflight according to user preferences. It is highly recommended to set the lateral FOV to 85-95 degrees, depending on screen used. You can do it via X-Plane rendering options window. You will instantly have a more realistic perception on the cockpit with these settings, and will not need to "slide" back and forth to see what is needed in the cockpit. Please let me know if you need further assistance!

I have the same complaint. A FOV of 85-96 degrees is not at all realistic, it distorts everything out the window, and I always have to change it back when switching to other planes which work better with a less extreme FOV.

Hi! As noted, the 85-95 degrees FOV is indeed recommended, but it is dependent on the display size (22" / 27" / 32" etc...). The head position is phisically set where it supposed to (the cockpit is scaled with RL dimensions), but depending on user preferences, you may need to adjust it a bit. I highly recommended to use the built-in X-Plane 11 quick camera view setting, which is allowing you to program your needed view into a keypad. It is saved in the aircraft preferences so you don't need to re-adjust it every time you are liading a plane. Hope that this will be a good solution for you!
