Seeking suggestions from the community to correct sinking tail wheel & mains into the runway or ground surface in X-Plane 11. I have "Runway follows Terrain" is unchecked in general settings. Thanks Hi there! "sinking tires" in X-Plane is a result of a height difference between the physical terrain and the visible surface, which is not uniform, even on paved runways. As an aircraft tire is getting smaller in diameter, this sinking becomes more visible, as the depth of the invisible "shallow, negative bump" gets closer the the actual tire diameter. The Tail-wheel of the EuroFOX is small in diameter, and as it is following the physical (non-visible) uneven terrain, it contact point with the ground gets in and out of the visible terrain...thus it "sinks" inside. There is nothing much to do...you can taxi slowly on the runway and see how the wheel is following the physical, invisible terrain. In some cases, the wheel may be seen as it is not touching the ground. So...as the wheels are getting smaller...the difference seems larger... Thanks! ...I hope that this explanation was clear and useful enough...
