I've been watching the development on Facebook and was eager to see it released. I fly one in FSX but isn't nearly as detailed as this version. She's a beauty.
Now for a few questions: I see some smearing on the windscreen, almost has the appearance of "Icing" if I were flying high enough for that to happen. Is that something that can be eliminated or at least controlled somehow?
I get a constant flicker with the alternator light. . .is that normal?
With the aircraft in straight and level flight, AP, Alt and Hdg Hold active, the AOA indicator sets at it's lowest point on the scale. . .Correct or not?
The manual indicates that with the wings folded the aircraft cannot be flown. . .true enough, but they can be folded in flight (thereby making it unflyable, lol). Shouldn't there be an override to keep that from happening once the wings are spread and locked for flight?
Despite the click spot shown in the manual to remove the passenger. . .she remains. Also, is the pilot male or female? He/she has some characteristics of both. If it's a guy, fine, if it's a girl. . .why?
Thanks again for a job well done!!

Windscreen smearing will be fixed soon. It is related to a slightly over-done windshield reflections. Alternator light will turn on around Idle RPM (on the ground) and will turn off as you'll add a bit throttle. Should not occur during flight. Wing-folding - it is not a "system"...in the real A5 - it is being done manually before or after the flight (by hand). So an override system is not required. In the VSKYLABS A5 it is possible to fold the wings during flight. Mainly to let the users experiment with it..play with it a bit...to see that it is modeled into the flight dynamics, and to have some fun. This is the reason why it is being activated by a fictional interaction spot and not by a switch or a lever. Click spot should remove all humans in cockpit. The pilot is female. She is a fictional hard-working bush-plane pilot in her fictional life (that was a joke). Reason is that in real life, ICON Aircraft are using female pilots as instructors as well (you can search Youtube for ICON-A5 flight videos) and I thought that the VSL A5 should be no different. The pilot and passenger can be hidden by the user, so it shouldn't arise issues. The pilot is also wearing jeans and sneakers, so it would not be too "gender" oriented experience when using the 1st person view. Glad to hear that you like it!

Finally found the right click spot for the Pilot/Passenger. I don't like the results, but it's just my personal preference and probably not anyone else's. There should always be a Pilot. . .but only as viewed from the exterior. I don't care for passengers, but losing everything with one click. . . .oh well. Thanks for all the hard work on the Icon. I'll look forward to the fix for the windscreen.

Having the pilot *always visible* in exterior view (regardless its visibility in the interior view) could be an additional 3rd mode...I will look into a reasonable solution for this. Windscreen over-done reflections will get fixed really soon.

A few questions: In straight and level flight, is this the correct position for the AOA needle? Although it isn't evident here, the Alternator light is flickering constantly while in flight. It comes on steady at low RPM's but I assume that's normal. *************************************************************************************************************************************************** Once again. . .a personal preference thing. The dirty windscreen. . .I guess I understand the "real world" aspect of having it like that. . .not every windscreen is crystal clear all the time so there will be times when it can use a good polishing. . .I can do without it though. Great Airplane though. Using it down the Lesser Antilles chain into the Grenadines!

Great Airplane though. Using it down the Lesser Antilles chain into the Grenadines! Hi there! ok... First thing to do is to re-download the project from your store account. There has been a new update which included several initial fixes and the addition of the STMA Autoupdater plugin (best ways to get "pushing information" about projects updates is to follow the VSKYLABS Facebook page, or to register to the VSKYLABS Store. I will also add the update announcement in this forum! Within this update: ************ Update to version v1.1 - Major update release (24th March 2019)
VSKYLABS Test-Pilot: ICON-A5 Project update v1.1 is including:
Systems: *Electrical system tuneup - Alternator algorithm fixed. *Oil system algorithm tuneup + engine damage algorithm was added in case of exceeding oil temperature limit.
3D modeling and textures fixes: *inner canopy reflections reduced. *overhead panel 3D model bug was fixed. *COM1 power button textures were fixed. *'OFF' placard was added to main power switch button in the 'off' position.
STMA Autoupdater plugin was added to the project. Future updates will be pushed smoothly without the need to re-download the entire base package (base package will be updated every once in a while to minimize the gap).
************
AS for the AOA indicator, yes, this is exactly how it supposed to be when flying straight and level in the cruise regime airspeed. As you slow down, while keeping straight and level, it will move upwards...up until the white dotted line ("horizontal") which will indicate the "best glide" or L/D ratio regime. Keep slowing down and you will get into the high-AOA / stall regime.
Let me know if you are still having issues with the plane! I will assist!
Thanks for your feedback!

Perfect! In my perfect world this was always the airplane I would have owned. Liked the look of it and the possibilities it would give me living close to a large lake. I live a few miles south of Lake Texoma, right on the Texas/Oklahoma border. It would be a great playground for the Icon to explore. At least I get to do that now in the virtual world in X-Plane.
