For this have not heard, Mac's ne operating system, os Catalina, has produced some major challenges with X-plane 11, mainly with 3rd party software. A good example of that is the VSKYLABS DC-3/C-47 project. Under the new operating system, I am unable to load this plane because the Mac os cannot verify the author of the file "mac.xpl". So far as I can tell, this affects all third party software with a few exceptions. But as of now, I have an airplane that I very much enjoy flying that is unusable right now. My questions is, 1) Is VSKYLABS aware of this problem and 2) What actioins are they taking to correct it? Any help from other users who have experienced this problem I would appreciate their feedback.

Hi there!
Thank you for your input.
I think I'm having a clue...not sure...but it will be investigated soon. Findings and conclusions will be posted here in this thread.
To verify: do you have other VSKYLABS projects running? If the answer is YES, can you specify which project?
Thanks!

Hi again!
Ok...
Please follow this procedure:
Right click mac.xpl (in the Aircrafts plugins/STMA_AutoUpdate/64/") > Open With Other > Enable All Apps (bottom center) > Navigate to X-Plane App > Open > Confirm Open.
(New plugins imported into the Resources/plugins folder by Thumb Drive, eMail or download require individual authorization using the above procedure). If this doesn't work, you can remove the STMA_AutoUpdate plugin folder (or move it outside the aircraft folder) and the plugin will not run. In this case, you will not get updates, but the current aircraft version should work until the issue will be fixed for Catalina.
Let me know if that worked. If it worked, I will publish this as a walk-around procedure, until the issue will be resolved.
Thanks!

I have your VSKYLAB DC-3/C-47 project ver. 2.8.01 running. I tried your procedure in the second post. IF I was following your procedures correctly (there is always that chance) I got as far as Open > Confirm Open but couldn't get any farther. The files were what I called greyes out. You can see them but you cand do anything with them. Anyway, when I tried to open XP-11 and chose your airplane, I get the same warning, twice. IT gives me the option to close or delete the file. If I chose close then I have to force quit x-plane. I won't delete "mac.xpl" because I don't know what it is or what it does. I can then go to Systems Preferences > Security and Privacy and tel my Mac to allow the file to operate. Doesn't do any good, I still keep getting the error message. Whatever this mac.xpl file is it seems like they never run out of them. I feel like Custer at the Little Big Horn. I have written the suthors of X-plane numerous times. I don't think they quite know what to do. I have also addressed my concerns to Apple. There a few 3rd party add-ons that work. Going forward, I guess the question to ask is, when buying a third party add-on of any type (aircraft, scenery), how to I know it will work under Mac os Catalina? Let me know if you need more software.

As for the VSKYLABS projects...they are working because they are engineered like the default planes. What currently is having issues is the autoupdater plugin...and although I don't have yet an exact time frame for fixing this, it is underwork as we speak. For now I recommend you to remove the STMA_AutoUpdate plugin folder and then launch X-Plane and load the DC-3. It will work. The current build version of the project package is 2.8.01...and the only update (2.8.02) was a VR related update (knobs sensitivities in VR). So if you are having version v2.8.01 or if your progressive package is now v2.8.02 (it should, because it was updated several months ago), then you are good to go, having the most updated versions of the project. Future wise...hopefully the autoupdater issue will be resolved for Catalina, and if not...please redownload the package from the store each time an update phase is being completed. This way you will not have any issues. Let me know if you need further assistance!

I have removed STMA_Autoupdater plugin folder and I still get the error message. Hi there! Have you deleted it completely? (or removed to the desktop?) Is this issue was solved? Thanks!

It's all about attributes and quarantine. Try this
Open Terminal.app and enter the following to get an overview of what attributes your files in the plugins folder of X-Plane have:
xattr -rl /Users/Yourname/Desktop/X-Plane\ 11/Resources/Plugins
For Aircraft Plugins
xattr -rl /Users/yourname/Desktop/X-Plane\ 11/Aircraft
And to get rid of the quarantine flag for all plugin files:
xattd -rl /Users/yourname/Desktop/X-Plane\ 11/Resources/Plugins
And for Aircraft
xattd -rl /Users/yourname/Desktop/X-Plane\ 11/Aircraft
(change the "/path/to your/X-Plane 11" to the appropriate thing for your X-Plane installation)
If you have airplanes that add functionality via binaries (XPL) you might need to run this command in your aircraft folder as well.
