Hi there,
Just bought the Flight Design CTLS and Icon A5 and playing around with them both. For the CTLS I noticed the braking is via a lever in the center console (no toe brakes). While I can use the toe brakes on my Saitak Rudder Pedals, it's not realistic for this aircraft. Instead I'd like the Choke, Throttle, and Brake levers for the aircraft to be set to the Throttle, Prop, and Mixture levers on my Saitek controller in X-Plane 11 but I can't figure out how. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Much appreciated.

Hi there! Just to make sure...are you asking if/how you can assign the braking lever in the CTLS to a joystick lever?

Thanks for replying!
I'm asking more the "if" question in regards to the command(s) that the braking lever in the CTLS is triggering in X-Plane 11. I know how to edit controllers and assign different functions in X-Plane but the Choke and Brake lever in the CTLS seem to be triggering commands I can't figure out. For example, the options for the levers are commands that function on a spectrum (have varying degrees of application - e.g., throttle, mixture, prop, left-toe brake, right-toe brake, etc.), not toggle (e.g., buttons, switches). The only items that appear in that list related to braking that I'm aware of are left-toe brake and right-toe brake, but I can't assign both simultaneously to a single lever.
You can scroll to the bottom of that list and assign any custom control but when I look up brakes in the huge list I don't see a single controller for brakes that would work on a lever (not a toggle). Basically I was looking for a command that would be both left and right brakes simultaneously instead of the default left-toe/right-toe setup.
As for the Choke lever, I don't even know what that is controlling in X-Plane's universe as I don't find anything when I search for Choke in the list of commands.
Thanks for the help!

Can you tell me what commands the Choke and Brake levers are triggering in X-Plane? Maybe that would help. Ideally I'd want the controls to move in VR like the throttle does when I move the throttle control on my Saitek controller as well.
Thanks again!

Ideally I'd want the controls to move in VR like the throttle does when I move the throttle control on my Saitek controller as well. Thanks again! Hi! OK got it. For the brakes...the CTLS unique braking system required some customization back-stage. In fact, there was the exact same request for the VSKYLABS Aeros-2 Trike, in which a user requested to implement the ability to have linear control over the braking system with a single lever. Couple of days ago I've released an update to the Aeros-2 project which added this functionality. It worked in a way that the user is coupling the Joystick lever to the Left-toe brake axis, which is linear, and the aircraft will brake on both sides. This will work perfectly with the CTLS. It is now listed for implementation and hopefully will get into the project within a few days. About the choke: the VSKYLABS CTLS choke system is making use of Custom Slider#4. Try this and let me know if you got it working. So...keep tracks of this thread - I will let you know when the brakes feature is available (the project will autoupdate itself automatically). Thanks! JMH

Awesome news on the brake implementation. Really appreciate that these products have continued development and improvement.
Tried the slider #4 setting and it appears to only work (trigger the action) when I'm pushing the Saitek lever up (about mid point or so it triggers). The option I saw to select in the X-Plane list was "Slider #4 On/Off Control". I assume that was the one you were referring to.
The Saitek levers have another assignable point at the very bottom (you can pull them down and then there's another level of "click" you can get which can trigger other functions). So I set that to slider #4 as well and it works if I push up (triggering slider #4) then pull all the way down past that click (triggering slider #4 again). The animation follows as well, although I could totally get it out of sync if I didn't pull the lever down all the way and instead pushed it back up triggering the slider #4 action again (lever would be up again, but Choke would show down and be "On"). Hope that makes sense. Not sure if you can make it so the mid-way trigger point works when the slider is increasing and decreasing. It looks like the Saitek lever can be assigned to two functions as well so maybe up (Choke Off) could be Slider #4 and down (Choke On) could be Slider #5 ( ). Not sure if that would even work though.
Here's what I have now in anticipation of the brake fix being assigned to left-toe. Note that the #3 and #10 are assigned to slider #4 for now as I described above. Matches up my 3 levers to the 3 in the CTLS nicely!
Thanks for the help and quick replies. I look forward to the project update soon.

Thanks for the help and quick replies. I look forward to the project update soon. Hi there! Just to let you know that update v2.0 which was just released is featuring the brakes handle axis feature, among other updated items. In addition, the entire key mapping was added to the POH.
