A Russian friend has invited me to fly my LongEz at his local GA airport (UUMO). I fly the LongEZ with "standard six plus G530". Any chance the glass cockpit version has a US/nonUS setting? I'm trying to figure out what conversion tables I need to have handy, since the "standard six" LongEZ - Altimeter is in inches of mercury but ATIS will be in hPa millibars
- Altimeter reads in feet, I'm guessing pattern altitude will be in meters
- VVI reads in feet per minute. Will I need to know this in meters per second or some other units?
- Garmin530 shows distances in nautical miles. Will I need to convert to kilometers to announce "LongEZ 10 km south entering downwind for rwy 09" ?
I noticed wind speed is in meters per second, so a 2 or 2.2 to be exact multiplier gets me the familiar miles per hour for crosswind. Any other things I should be ready for? Still loving the vSkyLabs LongEZ - approaching 150 hours in it now. Only issue I have really is the IVAO X-CSL and MSFS MTL don't have a LongEZ (yet). I have requests into both groups, but in the mean time I have been choosing to appear as an ICON A5 which at least is a pusher.

I'll second that! For what it's worth, I'm the friend who invited him to fly with me. (Actually, HE suggested we fly together, and pointed me to your aircraft.) I bought the aircraft and I think I'm in love. . . . .
A suggestion if I may, (and no, I have no idea how easy or difficult it would be to implement): Since a particular aircraft can be used by people anywhere in the world, to fly anywhere in the world, using a group flying network anywhere in the world, it would make sense to allow the aircraft to use the local system of measurement - metric or imperial - so the ATIS information and/or chart information can be used directly without conversion. Absent that, a particular user, (say one in Europe), will have to translate and/or convert measurements to the local system with potential for error and embarrassment. Perhaps a setting in a user-editable preferences file could be used? Thanks! Jim

Hi!
OK...this is now listed for evaluation. Not #1 priority but for sure will be considered in future updates! Will follow-up on this in this thread, when relevant!
