Hello VSkyLabs,
Thanks for bringing a lot of cool and wanted aircrafts to the X-Plane simulator environment.
I have been flying the A22 a lot in X-Plane 12.. I have also flown the aircraft in real life as a passenger several times.
If things are going my way, I will start flying lessons on the A22-LS sometime in 2024. Currently I am working on my PPL(A) theory exams.
Getting back to my topic.. In aviation there is a lot of attention to detail.. it's all about details.. so the more details that is simulated correctly, the more it becomes a supporting tool for real life aviation and training.
On my wishlist for the A22:
- The Carb heater: This should be simulated as in real life aviation. The issue with Carburator iceing is real, and it is a very important part of pilot training. The use of Carb heating also has impact on RPM and fuel/air mixtur.
- The pitot pipe: Iceing on the pitot tube should be simulated and have an impact on the airspeed indicator.
- Startup with cold and dark aircraft: It should take longer for heating the engine oil, so more low RPMs on the ground before takeoff. As in real life
There should also be an impact to engine RPM when using the choke..
These are not complaints.. these are wishes for new features :-)
Thats is for me.. all the best for the holidays
Best regards,
Christian

OK some notes regarding yours: -Carb heater: The main reasons for not having carburetor heat in the VSKYLABS A22 is because it is equipped with a simulated Rotax 912is engine (fuel injection model, not the carburated ULS). So the cockpit/equipment follows the specific variant, which is not equipped with carburetor heating levers/knobs etc. In general, the Rotax 912 (carburated versions), carburetor heating is an option - this is due to the design caracteristics of the carburetors. -Pitot tube: It is simulated. If you fly in the relevant conditions, X-Plane should initiate icing. It is the default-state in X-Plane. In some situations, X-Plane won't trigger the issue (such as pitot icing) spontaneously... -Startup cold vs engine oil heating: Yes, you are right. This was addressed in X-Plane 12.0.8 update and the update is still being studied here at the 'labs. Will make development decisions once this evaluation is completed! -Choke vs rpm: There is an impact, although it may be lower than in real-life operations. X-Plane does not simulate choke by default...this system will be addressed in the upcoming update of the aircraft, trying to achieve a more realistic choke behavior. Thanks again for reaching out and for your feedback! The project is under evaluation for adding a 2nd variant. Your 'wishlist' items will take into consideration.
