I've noticed a small issue with this. I think its probably an x-plane issue but wondered if anything could be done to the model to compensate. I have the twist action on the joystick set to nosewheel tiller. So on takeoff I can keep the S1 in a straight line. This works great on tarmac surfaces, but on grass it just skids uncontrollably, like it is on ice. Is there a setting somewhere in xplane or within the model for 'grippyness' that would give it the same grip as it has on tarmac, which feels pretty natural and accurate to me. One last thing, if I start a flight and leave it on the runway, with the controls centered, after about 30s sometimes the nose just rises into the air without moving the trike. Not a huge issue as I can just restart the flight but does seem a little strange. Thanks Hi, My post clashed a bit with the new release. To confirm, the above is related to the older release, on XP10. I have not tried the new release or XP11. Thanks

(edited): Regarding the grass traction...it is X-Plane 10.51 internal "thing" (in V11 it is working quite well). I've noticed that there is huge performance difference between a grass surface and a grass runway in X-Plane. When going off-runway, performance is strange...too difficult to develop speed (lots of the 'grip' thing that you have described), and at the same time, very low friction coefficient (very hard to steer). Regarding the nose-up thing...also X-Plane 10.51 issue only (in V11 it is working quite well) it tends to happen mostly when off-runway (on the grassy surface around the runway). Reason is mainly the weight shifting setup for the trike. This is a quote from the 7th December 2016 update: ". ..Flight model deeply refurbished. The Trikes flight envelope was "opened" to allow more control authority when landing at nose-high attitude (one can now run on the two main gears more easily)." Now...in that particular update I've tested the ability to run in a nose-up attitude in touch and goes and after landings..so I've "opened" the flight envelope a little bit to allow a more wider range of nose attitude for the trike while flying/running on the ground. The nose-up thing that you are describing is a result of that fix I did, only in the X-Plane 10.51 versions, and it is a known issue (minor fix). It is one of the issues that are scheduled to be fixed in the next update for X-Plane 10.51. I hope that my answers are satisfying Thanks a lot for your feedback! JetManHuss.

Hi, Thanks for explaining that. I hope to get a new graphics card and get properly updated to V11 soon anyway, so will try again then. I'm primerily using it on an airfield I designed myself, so have just made it tarmac for now, its no big deal but thought I would ask.
Thanks

Note that this package will continue to be updated for X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 10.51, so expect fixes and updates even if you stay with X-Plane 10.51.

Another couple of quick questions/feedback if I may.
I dont think I really noticed until the recent update where the engine sounds were changed, but the S1 (and s1F) trikes both seem to bounce off a rev limiter at about 2500 revs. They reach that with only half throttle input (or maybe less)
Is this by design or is it a bug?
Another question also - is it possible to set the altimeter, not concerned whether it can be done on the panel but can it be don within xplane menus at all? Thanks.
P.S. I'm on XP11 now, but 10 seems the same.

Hi The rev limiter is a known issue, but not a "bug". The last update was including a new settings for the engine and the prop...this issue together with a new altimeter gauge, which will be equipped with a knob for pressure setting, will be released very soon. Probably during the next three or four days.

Thanks Engine and sounds are great, as is the adjustable altimeter.
Not so sure about : "I've added some dirt onto the GPS screen and gauges glass. Looks realistic in sun reflections. "
The two outer guages are really difficult to read on my setup, but then I do have max reflections etc enabled so maybe that doesn't help. The speedometer is clear.

Hi,
I'm in trouble. I just can't start, engine die. Even if you start x-plane11 "start with engines running" it dies after a few seconds. What could be happening?
Sorry about my English.
Thank you.

Hi! This is a strange behavior indeed. Does it happens with all of the models or just a particular one?

Hi! This is a strange behavior indeed. Does it happens with all of the models or just a particular one? This happens with all models. Ops I'm sorry. There are many complaints in the Laminar forum, it seems the problem is in the last update of X-plane11. Let's wait for corrections.

Hi! ...sory for the late response. The 3 gauges are positioned in a way that the central one is facing straight forward, while the other two are pointing slightly outwards, what causes the reflection that you are describing. I will soon set the instrument panel so all of the gauges will face in the same angel, and it will be solved.

Hi! Yes, I saw the update yesterday but didn't go through it. I usually wait a couple of days before I'm updating... I recommend you to make a thin copy of your X-Plane 11 (minimal scenery, included aircraft only), for beta experimentations (updates etc...), and if every thing runs smoothly, go for the update of your main installation. From my experience, Laminar Research will solve it as quickly as possible.

I am curious to hear whether other users find the s1 trike a little too easy to 'tumble' on pulling the bar in? It seems to happen a lot for me. Sometimes in fairly regularly flight, but certainly if I try practicing stall recovery etc. I don't have enough experience on real flexwings to know if this is right or not, but pretty sure I would already be dead if it was accurate. Perhaps it is just the control mechanism ie joystick allows bar inputs that wouldn't be possible in the real world. The developer has kindly offered to make it harder to tumble, but don't want him to do that if the model is accurate and it is my misunderstanding that is the issue. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi there...
... I really like your gliders but I that's new stuff for me so I have some feedback/questions. First, I found that I can trim the S1 glider like a conventional aircraft, but I can't trim the S3 and S4 this way. I don't know about reaalism in this Situation, but I find the S1 is much more comfortable to fly than the S3 and S4 with my x360 Gamepad. Is it somehow possible to give the S3 and S4 the same trim cpabilities as the S1?
Next is the altimeter setting on the S1 and S3, that is really hard to read. I can use it, but a slightly higher resolution for the pressure reading would help a lot. But, in the S4, the altitude is displayed on the smartphone, without a knob for adjustment. How can I set the Altimeter in the S4? Did I miss something here?
In the end I enjoy the gliders and want to thank your for the great work.
Agi

Trim: I've added this feature for the S1 as an experimental trial. Although real hang gliders are not being trimmed during flight, only by changing the pilot's attitude, it might become handy in a desktop simulator (think about it...in a mobile flightsim of a hang glider, you simply set a new attitude by tilting the device...almost like the real thing...). So...you've got a point here, and I will add this feature to the rest of the gliders, soon. Altimeters resolution: pre planned update...soon will be replaced with a high resolution gauges for all trikes, including the micro hopper. Altimeter setting in the s4...although an experimental glider, no reason for not having an adjustable, digital altimeter (in the smartphone). Soon to be added. *Soon/near future means one to three weeks, in my schedule Great points. Thanks again!
